In a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, herbivores and carnivores coexist with each other. For the adolescences of Cherryton Academy, school life is filled with hope, romance, distrust, and uneasiness. The main character is Legoshi the wolf, a member of the drama club. Despite his menacing appearance, he has a very gentle heart. Throughout most of his life, he has always been an object of fear and hatred by other animals, and he's been quite accustomed to that lifestyle. But soon, he finds himself becoming more involved with his fellow classmates who have their own share of insecurities and finds his life in school changing slowly.
This tv show contains 88 potentially triggering events.
In a later episode, a character is revealed to be a survivor of a child kidnapping organization [TRIGGER WARNING] and it is heavily implied that while he was able to escape, the other children died.
Within the canon of the show, the blood of prey/herbivores is like a drug to predators/carnivores. Throughout the show, this parallel is drawn & consuming prey is sometimes treated like using drugs (esp. sterroids). In one episode, a predator drinks from a vile of herbivore blood in order to make him a better/more energetic actor.
It is a show about anthropomorphic animals taking on their natural instinct and carnivore's instincts are to eat animals, so a lot of dead animals are in this show. If that triggers you, don't watch this.
If we talk about dragons, they only appear in Season 3 two times as a tattoo. But if talk about Komodo Dragons, they are present in the series but none of them does.
Major themes of the story can be very easily read as metaphor for sexual assault , and one plot-important scene does have a seemingly older middle aged adult sexually assaulting (undressing and grabbing) a much younger adult (18)
Also , a certain manga character's backstory has this implied
Towards the end of the show, an attempted sexual assault becomes the main conflict. While the character is rescued before it is too late, [TRIGGER WARNING] she is undressed and groped by the antagonist.
[Spoilers] There are various scenes showing hand damage, for example There is a man in the black market who sells his fingers A member of the Shishigumi has his hand stabbed
(Major spoilers for s2e7)
A characters arm accidentally gets ripped off in the drama club
(spoilers for s2e8)
Nothing is shown, but a crocodile has its genitals cut off. His screams can be heard, however.
(Major spoilers for end of season)
[character] lets main character eat their leg to win a fight
Fairly early on theres a breif scene where a herbivore in the streets is selling his fingers to be eaten by carnivores and there's healed but mutilated stumps
A character is kidnapped and essentially tortured in the endings of season 1 as major plot story
Another character has genitalia removed , not on-screen but iirc you hear the character in pain .
Limbs get ripped off, some lions get shot in the head, someone gets their leg eaten. I wouldn't call it excessive, there's no bones or insides shown, but there's still a decent amount of blood.
The show largely revolves around the concept of predator-prey animal relationships and "devourings". It is not a subject that can be avoided if you want to watch the show.
Characters regularly drool in this show. (SPOILERS)——-— A significant example is when Legoshi runs through the black market & cant stop drooling once he’s on the other side.
[SPOILERS] at one point, a character who is a therapist shows photographs of his past patients who have harmed themselves, while describing their self harm.
Some herbivore characters seem to accept or encourage being eaten by a carnivore.
Sometimes characters have aimed a knife to their own throat, or gun pointed at their head in attempt or threat of suicide.
Also , manga chapter 153 has a character trying to purposely harm themselves with a poisonous food.
for those with sensitivity to eating noises like myself, season 2 of the anime has a lot scenes that have audible slurping and chewing noises.
I recommend muting whenever you see someone about to eat or drink :)
In Season 3 some characters suffers from being hybrids.
Legoshi's mom suffers from being half-wolf and half-komodo dragon
Melon suffers from being half-gazelle and half-leopard
Legoshi also suffers from being 75% wolf and 25% komodo dragon
While it is very minor, a major character has a struggle where he speaks very negatively of himself for being born in a “weak” body, and this could be perceived as ableist towards himself? Additionally, there are jokes relating to animals (a goat is called names for eating his homework) that are not intended to be ableist but some may perceive it as such.
Legoshi "disguises" himself as woman (on purpose) to get Louis attention. It is played for laughs but the character had consent so I wouldn't think this would be triggering, basically main character gets into full drag to get other main character to pay attention to him.
When Legoshi dresses up as a female some people say he is a woman, however he wanted this outcome so it may not be triggering as Legoshi wanted to be misgendered.
