Desperate to save their marriage, a young couple takes a deal to move into their dream home, but disturbing events reveal the house's troubled history.
This movie contains 33 potentially triggering events.
Sort of. SPOILER: The man was locked in the basement by his ex girlfriend, and then he kills other people.
Also the husband who was cheated on, gets too friendly in my opinion with another woman.
Not so much but there's a period of time where no one believes the wife when she talks about the things happening in the house and they tell her she's just having nightmares.
NO RECREATIONAL DRUG USE, though there is a few mentions of medication use. The antagonist uses a toxin (nexum?) to gradually poison the dog Odi and the husband Kevin. He also tries to use a needle to inject some sort of drug.
The family dog Odi collapses at the park due to poison. The dog is euthanised off-camera by a veterinarian, but you do hear audio of Odi whining and the subsequent emotions of the family. 00:00:50 - 00:01:03.
The antagonist of the movie uses toxins to poison the family dog Odi, using microdoses so his death is gradual. As the viewer you are not aware anything is wrong with Odi until he collapses at the park.
No rape occurs, but after an online post is made about the wife liking to be "taken by surprise", she assaulted in her own hom, but is able to fend off the attacker.
Yes, twords the end there's an almost rape scene,
No clothes are taken off but its pretty scary .
There's also a second time closer to the end, when the main character is tied up she is kissed without consent
No but in the opening scene where the crime scene clean-up crew are working one of them picks up a section of shattered jaw (from the male who had blown his head off in an apparent murder-suicide) and says something about finding teeth before the scene cuts.
The jumpscares are fairly minor (a few of them are audio based after a rising moment of tension), but there are a few jumps when the main antagonist attacks
Unsure of how far into the movie. When one of the main characters is cleaning a crime side. He is sign dry retching a couple of times. He then runs off camera out a door, but the cameras pans back to him, front on, proceeding to vomit onto the ground. He does that twice. Then vomits again but ducks his head down under the camera. I found it very triggering but you can definitely tell when it’s about to happen. I advise skipping the movie by at least 15 seconds to get passed it if you’re worried x
Briefly towards the end when the protagonist is trying to fend off the creepy guy strangling her she grabs a camera flash (I think) and uses it to startle him away, making it flash quickly right in his face
The opening sequence is pretty brutal - first the opening credits panning across 2 dead bodies with blood everywhere (and a graphic shot of what remained of the husband's head after apparently shooting himself), then the clean-up crew having to tackle the scene. Other than that there's not too much gore; when Natalie comes-to in the hidden room she pans across a wall of photos, including a gruesome one the creepy man must have taken after he'd shot the husband from the start of the film; also towards the end when the creepy man is stabbed with scissors there's a bit of blood
