"Gray matter" first segment. The blob monster absorbs a cat (though only it's carcass is seen), a man, is implied to absorb the remaining cast at the end of the episode and also implied that it'll soon absorb everything in the entire world.
Slapped by uncle, emotionally abused as well. At one point uncle is threatening to give the kid an "ass whooping" and grabs a baseball bat, clearly intending to beat the child with it. He is unsuccessful but this could be an upsetting visual.
During the first story of the episode, multiple seagulls are punched, hit with a rock, and strangled to death. We are shown one seagull writhing in pain on the sand before we see, and hear, the man strangling and snapping its neck. Both seagull deaths happen within the first 8 minutes of the episode. A third seagull is hit with a rock, bleeding and severely injured, but escapes into the ocean. Very tough to watch this entire story.
Beginning of S3 e5 in the segment “Time Out”. A cat walks into a closet/wardrobe that affects time and dies of old age within a minute. Nothing is really shown but as the old woman opens the closet in search of the cat you hear a cat yowl and all that’s left of the cat is ashes in the shape of a cat and a collar with a heart-shaped name tag. The old lady picks it up and looks at it sadly. Could be upsetting/triggering for cat lovers. It was for me. 😢
A literally contorted though not broken bones episode occurs where someone is confined to a very small space that would otherwise require broken bones.
The episode “Bad Wolf Down” is set during World War II so the antagonists are the Nazis. But otherwise no depictions if anti-demotion as far as I can tell
I wouldn't call it straight up hate speech but there's not category for just racism so here it is. A Black woman is the station manager and is talked down to by a white TV show personality, threatening her job and saying the station took a big chance on someone "like her" and making racist quips.
