No drugs, though there is a scene where a character gets poisoned by a mutated insect and then experiences drug-like symptoms (specifically, hallucinations). There is also the typical imagery/visuals associated with hallucinogenic drugs when this happens.
Not technically in the movie proper, but in the intro with voice over (with sketchy hand drawn animation), there's a reference to a friend of the protagonist who got eaten by a mutated goldfish, and the friend's cat is eaten too. It's very brief, with a very cartoony image of the goldfish swallowing the cat. Not at all graphic, blink and you'll miss it.
Kind of, someone feeds a group of people poisonous berries that make them pass out, but nothing of a sexual nature happens. And they do wake up tied up. But are freed again
Yes, but only very strictly speaking. When a new relationship between two teens is interrupted by something like an apocalypse, and seven years go by before they see each other again, one of them having found someone else in the meantime is pretty natural and justifiable, I'd say, no matter how devoted the other one happens to have remained.
No mannequins, explicitly, but there is a humanoid-shaped robot (no discernible features of a face) that the protagonist speaks about/to in the beginning.
No, but Boy does have an emotional security item and saves it from being lost, putting their lives in danger. it's ok, but Joel does blow up at him afterwards for the risk. The verbal abuse over the security item made me, an autistic person who used to have a security item, VERY uncomfortable. It's brief though. When he pulls the last leech off of his neck is when it happens.
Chemicals rain down on the earth and mutate all cold-blooded animals - some are very grotesque and disturbing, including a giant frog with extra misplaced eyes (including some on stalk-like growths) that hunts the protagonist. I know some people only use this category for body image issues (which are not in this movie) but I had to turn off the movie because of this and wish someone would have warned me.
People staying in a darkish underground bunker for seven years because the world outside is extremely dangerous. At least one character hasn't left the bunker for even a moment during all those years. Someone falls into a deep hole in the ground and can't get out, then the hole starts filling up with lamprey-like human-eating monsters - the person is helped out in the last minute. We also see people tied to something with zip ties.
Yes, most notably when something is supposed to be from joels perspective. One instance is about halfway through the movie when joel has just killed a monster and starts talking to his dog
We DO see the baby. Here's my comment: No one is pregnant. We briefly see an infant being picked up from its crib (in a flashback during Joel's narration about the colony).
Somewhat. The members of Joel's colony talk about how he freezes up and that it would make him a danger to take with them. This scene can potentially come across as triggering/ableist to those with PTSD and anxiety disorders, as they are made to seem "useless" or "unworthy."
No, but we do see a dog and a young man in a body of water that we have reason to believe has dangerous animals/monsters in it. Thankfully, nothing bad happens in the water.
