The main character threatens to hurt her two children and yells at them multiple times, even if it's only to make sure they don't die by removing their blindfolds. Some might consider it abusive.
A character gets sort of drunk in a grocery store and is seen drinking in one or two other scenes. I'm not sure if that counts, but it may be triggering to some
according to wikipedia: “the production used live birds during the filming as much as possible, replacing them digitally for sequences when they became ‘agitated’.”
No animals die - three parakeets are kept in a box and their lives are threatened multiple times (they are put in a freezer in one scene but quickly taken out by another character, and in another scene they nearly drown in a river) but they are completely fine and unharmed by the end :)
A woman gets into an on-fire car after seeing the monster and burns alive. Not too much on-screen -- we see her get in, then a black body of ash sitting in the seat just before the car explodes completely.
Yes, during the scene where they're driving blind, they drive over a corpse's head. We do not see the squash itself, but the character's reactions and audio gore could trigger someone
Douglas gets hit on the head with a glass bottle and becomes unconscious. Tom gets hit on the back of the head by someone and becomes unconscious. Mallorie falls down a small cliff and becomes unconscious.
A mother dies just minutes after giving birth, as well as the father-figure of the two main children in the movie dying. At the beginning of the film, two parents leave safety to find their children, and never come back (we don't see their deaths on-screen, though)
since yall are cunts and cant tell the exact timestamp i will, its around the 9:00 mark. Just skip to the 10 minute point its only around like 30 seconds or something
The creature causes people to become extremely mentally ill and suicidal upon being looked at; there are scenes (particularly in the beginning) of people killing themselves in violent ways (banging their heads open, getting into an exploding car, etc.)
Almost everyone who dies in this movie dies from involuntary suicide. They see the monster and kill themselves almost immediately after, or go on to make others see this monster and kill themselves.
Not quite. A woman dies just minutes after giving birth thought. And the main character is pregnant for much of the movie (SPOILER) she does not die, though it seems like she might many times.
There are multiple characters who are portrayed as being "crazy", trying to force other people to look at the monsters. The way the film portrays mental illness may be upsetting to some
At the beginning of the film, there are lots of car crashes as everyone begins to see the monsters at the same time. Towards the beginning, a character describes his contractor as laying down in front of a bulldozer, but that isn't on-screen.
Malorie kills a man by stabbing him in the side and neck with a long knife on the river, and he falls into the water and dies. So he doesn't die by drowning, but in the water -- could be triggering to some.
Multiple deaths involve characters getting shot, or stabbed, or run over. Often times it's bloody, though there isn't any real gore aside from that. A dead man's head gets run over by a car, though the actual crushing and aftermath are never shown. Pretty tame compared to other R rated horror films.
