Possibly, the teacher is heard smacking what is likely a child with what is probably her ruler. It may sound similar to a belt, but nothing is shown onscreen.
Yes. the playable characters are children. In the school children are also mistreated (attached to the neck like a dog; killed by the playable character). The teacher in the school scene is also abusive. She keeps smashing the ruler on the table and she prosecutes the playable character.
Possibly. There is evidence of animal hunting and trapping in the first section of the game. In a section of the pale city chapter there is a ‘secret room’ with caged rats that can be avoided.
Mostly at the start of the game in the wilderness section (first chapter). There are many dead animals in traps. A moose head is on one of the walls in the hunter’s shack. In the school section of the game (second chapter) there are dead frogs for dissection.
No but there are two sequences in the third chapter where you are chased by and then fight disembodied hands, and they move around in a way that looks like a spider.
in the hunter's house the playable character rips off the arm of a motionless person, who is sitting on a chair, as he tries to pull an object out of his hand. There are also multiple loose arms and legs during the whole game. Some lifeless characters in the hospital have no legs/&arms. The
There are hung people in the hunter's house. Multiple times there is clothings hanging down which looks like hanging people at first glance. There are also human-sized puppets hanging. A lot of straps that look like hanging straps are shown.
While there is no explicit imagery of bones being broken, the playable character can fall from a high enough height to kill it. The sound effect made by the character hitting the ground in
this instance sounds like bones being broken.
At a point in the hospital, there is a hand that crawls around like a spider. You might have to crush it with a hammer. It isn’t really gory but it does get kind of flattened
While no major characters "die" per say, the main character (SPOILER ALERT) does get betrayed and ends up growing up into one of the games main enemy's, which while not being death, hits quite hard.
Throughout the entire game there are high stress scenes that I would count as jump scares. Especially in the hospital during the mannequin part there are some mannequins that try to chase you but because you don’t know which ones will and which won’t I would call it a jumpscare
At any point in which a character or boss Is injured or killed there is usually a sound affect that come with it, usually you won't be able to hear it too well. Props to the sound team btw because all of the sounds are really realistic.
Not exactly, but one of the game's lvls takes place in a hospital which includes elements from a mental asylum (including a padded cell, and an electric chair)
No blatant eating disorders are shown in the game, but multiple NPCs are extremely overweight. This recurring theme is meant to exaggerate a child's fear of obesity. Naturally, this may be disturbing to many with eating disorders or body dysmorphia.
It's never explicitly said or implied but Mono and Six very clearly would have some kind of it because of their dependence on each other being a trauma bond, and how they treat other characters in both games + comics.
There is no antisemitism, but shoes are often strewn across the floor to imply that the owner of said object is dead. This may trigger some due to possible ties to holocaust imagery.
There is blood, gore, and body horror throughout the entire game. Almost any given shot of the game will have at least one of the previously mentioned elements.
The first "adult" character the player meets chases the player character with a shotgun. The player later has to use a shotgun to kill this character. (In the scene referenced by the other comment, the character is skinning an animal on a workbench.)
