Flatland: The Film
Movie • 2007 • Animation
ReportFlatland is a two-dimensional universe occupied by living geometric figures - squares, triangles, circles, etc. A Square, Attorney At Law, finds himself in the middle of two upheavals: the rise of martial law by the circular leadership of Flatland, and the arrival of A Sphere, CEO Of Messiah, Incorporated, a creature from a hitherto-unknown third dimensional world.

not shown onscreen exactly. the baby is a shape. they die while in a process to get rid of "irregular sides". there is no mention of them before or really after either.

There is an (unrealistic) hospital scene where a character goes to see his son. It doesn't resemble a real-world hospital in appearance because of the Flatlands being 2D.

their society is divided into classes based on number of sides and some characters feel self conscious about their sides i guess

also worth pointing out that it was a political demonstration of sorts, not stemming from mental health

In the 3D world there are very bright, flashing images, and a spinning camera. Even if you aren't in danger of having a seizure, the way it was animated can by dizzying to watch.

not for any real minority group, but something that exists within the world of the story if that makes sense? it has parallels to real issues- shapes with irregular sides are seen as "less than" by the government. there is an option for them to get "fixed" (reconfigured) at birth. shapes can change the colors of their sides as well which is illegal but really has no reason to be.

There is unrealistic gore. You can see the insides of all Flatlanders throughout the movie, and many die and bleed out, often by being cut into pieces and on one occasion by having (un-detailed, geometrical) organs pulled out. Additionally, there are some scenes where the main 3D character's organs can be seen. (To reiterate again, they are all shapes.)

There is a short scene where several 3D protestors (geometric shapes) are gunned down and shown dead and bleeding. There is also a 3D battle that takes place where gun violence is implied but not directly shown.
