An epic adventure begins when a massive sinkhole opens in the middle of Los Angeles, pulling hundreds of people and buildings into its depths. Those who fell in find themselves in a mysterious and dangerous primeval land, where they have no choice but to band together to survive. Meanwhile, the rest of the world desperately seeks to understand what happened. In the search for answers, one family torn apart by this disaster will have to unlock the secrets of this inexplicable event to find a way back to each other.
This tv show contains 19 potentially triggering events.
The stranded people find and take a cow, planning to use her "for milk and cheese" with, as usual in all media, no mention that the cow needs to be pregnant for there to be milk to steal or to use her body that way. It's played for laughs.
S2e1 man kills a wild hog w a spear. You can hear the hog crying; it's very sad.
There are also horses and burros whipped.
S2e6 animal testing (we see confined cgi animals and hear mentions but no vivisection onscreen)
They hunt for rabbits to eat. They don't show the violence while it's happening, as they let the rabbit they catch on camera go, but someone returns with a bunch of them after a hunt. There's also a scene where a rabbit has blood on them as if they hurt themselves in a fall.
One character is repeatedly told to stop "being a little b*tch" but not in particular for tears so much as showing a range of normal emotions and fears
Two of the main characters are kidnapped children. The older one hits the younger one early in the show, but it's taken care of. The abuse they went through isn't shown, only spoken about.
A character smokes marijuana for medical and recreational purposes. The people in the sinkhole find heroin in the trunk of a car. Antibiotics are used on wounded people.
Although s1ep3 is called the hunt and they trap a (very real, not cgi) rabbit, the rabbit is not hurt and does not die. They end up finding wild mushrooms to eat instead.
But in s1e4 around 14 min in two characters walk over holding piles of dead rabbits. It looks to be props but is still gross.
They graphically hunt and kill a pig and eat them.
Stab and kill a cgi bear in s2e2
I generally have a very hard time w shows where non humans die but this show is generally not very graphic and mostly cgi.
Multiple characters hyperventilate during anxiety attacks. There's also a kid with asthma near the end of the second season and they wheeze really loudly.
[SPOILERS] Many characters fall into a massive sinkhole but are actually transported somewhere else through some kind of portal, so none of them die from the fall.
In a flashback Gavin’s family visits him in the hospital after he survives a plane crash. A doctor makes a makeshift area inside an abandoned bus to treat a wounded character.
Dog in s2e1 is not harmed
