A rat has its tail stuck on a trap, BUUT there's a comment in another question saying "She is not harmed. I was the coordinator/trainer on set with Princess. The trap scene was CGI and the trap was disabled. I hope this helps 🙂"
Episode 5, a woman is performing a seance and mutilates her own face with her fingernails, causing injuries bad enough for others to call 911 and she is unconscious in the hospital
A character collected many unique artefacts that would have been destroyed in a fire, a smashed pot that is considered to be an artefact is later found by the main character
A child who experiences seizures is denied medical care (doctor doesn’t believe she has a problem), and her mother takes her to a priest instead. The priest tries to perform unpleasant rituals on her in order to stop her seizures, and her mother allows this
Episode 4, towards the end of the episode Melody has a seance performed to find her missing mother. The medium gets interrupted by another spirit instead, and after sending its message she goes crazy and scratches her own face and eyes.
The adult main characters sister dies when they are both children. It is 25 years in the past and isn’t shown on camera. This is my only trigger and I almost didn’t watch the show because of the two “yes” answers here. Only after I asked my husband to watch it first did I find out there is no on screen death of a child.
Some could be considered jumpscares, but most are fairly predictable. I’d just say that some of the imagery could be worse than expected? Some of the tv scenes (spoilers)
At the very beginning of episode 7 around the 3 minute mark. Dan is looking in the mirror and sees black mold all over his teeth. It happens right after that.
There are several scenes where Melody (and others) communicates with Dan directly through the screen as he is watching the restored tapes, and at one point there is a literal 4th wall break. There's no point where any character speaks directly to viewers, but Melody is speaking directly into the camera and addressing Dan as though he's with her. It's unsettling even if 4th wall breaks don't usually bother you
There's no actual incest in the show, however an older lesbian refers to her deceased life partner as her sister because apparently when her partner was alive they pretent to be sisters to safely pass during a more homophobic era and also to have a reason to take her partner's last name.
In addition to the other comment about the medium at the seance scratching her face, blood is depicted in rituals and people have there throats and hands cut in some scenes.
