First there was Father Brown. Now, say hello to Sister Boniface. This clever, moped-riding nun is the police's secret weapon for solving murders in this divine Father Brown spin-off.
This tv show contains 3 potentially triggering events.
The parents are only shown at the very beginning, but they are sending their 16 year old daughter away because she is pregnant. The father is black and they aren’t married, so the parents try to force her to give the baby up for adoption
No but someone is stabbed. It’s depicted towards the end of the episode in a flashback, but nothing is shown. There’s a quick sound effect and that’s it
Someone is electrocuted and their burned fingertips are shown briefly. They just look discolored and a bit peely (not gross!). I’m sensitive to injuries like that and this didn’t bother me.
No characters in the episode, but a child dying of measles is mentioned, along with comments about how it should have been the child’s sister who died instead
In one episode two men are climbing up a tower and one asks if the other is ok. He replies he’s fine but then he v***. There are no visuals, he’s just bending over on the stairs. You can hear coughing. Otherwise episode is safe.
A character spits up blood very briefly during a flashback. It was so brief that I didn’t notice it in the first flashback, and it only lasts a few seconds the during the second one.
Only once towards the end of the episode. During the flashback/reenactment of the murder, a thudding sound effect is played when the victim is hit on the back of the head with a gardening tool
No but someone is electrocuted to death in an electric chair. The murder is not shown, but the body is discovered after and is shown still in the chair
A former marine with PTSD is triggered and during a flashback, he ends up killing a woman. It’s not exactly on purpose and he only remembers the aftermath. He is treated with sympathy and the police opt to get him mental health help instead of just punishing him. It is handled well for the time period
One of the characters experiences hallucinations after being given LSD. The hallucinations are very clearly fictional and the scene only lasts for a few minutes
Not exactly diagnosed or anything, but a young girl is forced to restrict her food and skip meals by her mother. The girl is shown eating in secret a few times and complaining of being hungry
Very fake underwater scenes that are a part of a character’s hallucinations after being dosed with LSD. She is happily observing the sea creatures that she’s hallucinating
The subject of the episode is a beauty pageant and the women are treated pretty poorly, both by each other and by the organizer of the pageant. He tells contestants several times to stick their chests out, etc.
Not exactly, but one male character starts to cry and another male character gets clearly uncomfortable and says “pull it together, man.” No ridiculing, but definitely a little judgemental.
