There is an uncomfortable lengthy sequence around the third act where Thor, after being mistaken for violent, gets led away from his house in catch poles by animal control. He is shown barking and struggling to get free, which may be distressing. However, a close examination of the scene indicates that the animal actor *probably* was not in pain, as Thor's barks and whimpers include SFX added in post-production, the dog can be seen wagging its tail in some shots, and, according to IMDB, the animal control officers were played by the dog's actual trainers. Still might be concerning and upsetting to watch, however.
Thor is the protagonist, and also a non-talking dog. He finds himself in peril multiple times, including physical injury. Around the third act, he is mistaken for violent and is shown being taken away by animal control in catch poles, which is lengthy. However, he is later rescued.
Ted handcuffs himself to a tree as a safety measure before transformations. Additionally, Thor is shown being restrained by animal control catch poles as he's being taken away to the pound, which may be distressing if you're an animal lover.
around 48 or 49 minutes a man is slashed in the chest and through the hand, cutting off two fingers. They both sort of dangle off some pieces of meat and are shown a few times in about 10 seconds. icky !
Ted *kinda* dies by assisted suicide. One of the last scenes has Thor coming across him heavily injured but still alive, and he says 'do it.' It's implied Thor finished him off-screen.
