Episode 9 is all about an old and sick dog. The dog is well-loved and dies of natural causes in his owner's arms near the end. It's a rough episode to watch and I cried the entire time. It’s sad but also very sweet. It's obvious this episode was written by dog lovers.
Hell is often mentioned, since one character spent time there and it is where those who commit crimes including suicide end up. Mention of hellfire as punishment, walking endlessly, permanent separation from loved ones, or being in pain. Hell itself isn’t shown. Some thugs who are presumably from Hell appear in the last couple episodes intending to apprehend someone.
No, but there is a lot of discussion about the reasons behind staying alive & not unaliving oneself, and what happens after death (from a Christian opinion). Our intrinsic worth as human beings is a common topic.
Women are stoned in a public market in an unplanned attack. For entertainment of the men doing it, women are also dragged behind a horse with a rope around their necks.
The secondary character's best friend abuses alcohol in his episodes due to being rejected again by the police & depressed his best friend is comatose
The main character drinks excessively at a dining tent to cope with the anniversary of the death of her best friend in her human life
Ep 8 at the 11:58 mark, skip ahead to 12:16. (The scene is shown again from 28:58 until 29:10.) The death of the rat is not explicitly shown but was sad to me. At 12:25 until 12:29 you'll see an image of the video clip and the words/narration "as you can see, it's death was quiet and clean." I'm going to describe it now so you can stop reading if you want: a caged rat is shown on video while a person wraps plastic around the cage and attaches a nitrogen hose. The person watching the video quickly puts his phone down.
Episode 10 is a sexual assault case. Episode 11 also involves SA. It's not shown in either episode, but you'll see what leads up to it and it's mentioned many times, though not graphically. Episode 13 is about "comfort women" who were forced to be with men during the Japanese occupation.
Not really but the main character's best friend in her human life dies due to sustained head trauma of repeated throwing of rocks at both of their heads in flashbacks of episode 14
in ep 1, two people fall off a bridge into han river, but they don't die. // in ep 2 a character falls off a building, but she gets saved while falling. near the end of ep 2, another character falls off a building. this is shown again in ep 4.
Later episodes teenage girls got abducted and treated like sx workers Not exactly but one of first episodes there is scene when someone talk to a pedophile about his past actions to give him punishment
Since the characters are grim reapers, they have already died and some of their deaths are shown in flashback episodes. No major character dies during the show timeline.
Ep 7 is very unsafe, the victims whole backstory is unsafe and every time she heads to the bathroom skip ahead. I can get more specific time stamps in a bit
Episode 8, at the end of the episode the man drinks poison and coughs and makes noises in the background as the poison works. He only coughs up blood and is off screen in about 5 mins
Intermittent shakey cam throughout the show, but especially in EP. 9 where we see a POV of a small dog several times. The camera shakes and bounces as he runs around.
Many in episode 7. People talk about a woman eating "too much" and make fun of her. She is berated by her boss for her weight and for how she eats. There are flashbacks of another woman's memories of being bullied for her weight in high school.
Several of the characters featured in individual episodes have terminal illnesses and are near death. We often see their death by the end of the episode.
I'll update when the series ends, but so far none of the cases really have sad endings (as of episode 7). A few of the episodes end in cliffhangers. Update: episode 9 ending was a little sad.
We don’t see the crash, just the silent aftermath. The grim reapers are collecting the soul of a young girl who dies in the crash. We see her unconscious mother and the child’s dead body.
