As Ellie is riding away from the group of men her horse is shot from underneath her. It's particularly sad since she was just giving it water the scene before. :(

In this episode there is a character who tries to take on a role of a father for numerous young girls, although it is in more of a sexual manner than in a father like manner.
SPOILER
He also attempts to get Ellie to join him as her partner, and that could have been through marriage, but it’s not specified.

SPOILERS: A teenage girl is assaulted by a religious cult leader after he makes uncomfortable advances towards her. he then pins her to the ground and it is HEAVILY implied (borderline explicit) that he intends to imprison and rape her repeatedly. This never happens and he is killed seconds after this. This happens toward the end of the episode, slightly before the fifty minute mark.
S1E8 - (Spoilers for the climax of this episode) Attempted rape of a minor is shown on screen. (TW: detailed description of attempted rape) The scene shows the rapist on top of his underage victim, pinning her down. They are both fully clothed. He says something along the lines of “the fighting is my favorite part” and he goes to remove his belt. She is visibly terrified when she realizes his intent but she manages to grab a weapon and kill him before he gets any further than that. Traumatized, she repeatedly stabs him after he has died.

Military propaganda is a discussed issue due to Ellie's situation, but it is presented in a way where it's clear she doesn't know much outside of that world.
Yes but not due to their mental illness specifically, an old woman with dementia has become infected by the fungus and this causes her to attack her family.
Joel begins to show signs of having anxiety attacks. It occurs twice throughout the episode and he talks about the symptoms he experiences after the second one.
PTSD is realistically depicted in terms of a past even being recalled and re-enacted during the episode. It's well-done but there's only a few seconds of lead-in before it happens. Look for the flashback and then mute/don't watch.
In keeping with the video game, when the outbreak first starts and they are trying to escape in a truck, the camera is shown from the perspective of the backseat looking out the front window of the truck and it seemed a bit shaky to me and triggered a bit of my motion sickness.
episode one: from 26:00 until 30:00 there is almost non stop flashing lights, in particular from cars. at 1:16:30, there are flashes of thunder and lightning.
During a scene at the resort where everyone from David’s group are gathered for lunch, you can hear a baby crying in the background for a few seconds. No physical baby is shown.
Mother is shown in labor, baby has umbilical cord but no blood. Cord is cut with a knife.
(Fun little side note, the actor is Ashley Johnson, Ellie's voice actor in the video game!)
The plot of episode 3 uncritically presents assisted suicide as a romantic ending for two characters. Notably, these characters only start discussing suicide as an option once one of them starts using a wheelchair.
No but I said yes just Incase someone said people need to get right with Jesus that's why there is crime and 3 nails+ one cross equals forgiveness but nobody response so it's mentioned but I don't know if it counts as discussed
a male character is gently advised not to show fear, but it's for the sake of helping a young child feel at ease, not based on harmful gender stereotypes.
