During a shootout in a saloon, Sheriff Hunt injures a suspicious stranger. One of the villagers takes care of him in prison. One day they both disappear – only the spear of a cannibal tribe is found. Hunt and a few of his men go in search of the prisoner and his nurse.
This movie contains 56 potentially triggering events.
An hour and 5 minutes in, a beloved horse is shot and euthanized after an injury. You see the man fire the gun but do not see the injured or dead horse.
The feral tribe mutilate their own throats by putting some kind of small animal bone in their windpipe to make the whistling sound they do. A character later digs one out of a dead tribesman's throat to blow into himself. The digging out goes on for a good 15 seconds and is pretty gross.
A man has a large spike forced into his mouth & it is hammered into his head several times. It's extremely graphic. I don't think it shows teeth breaking but it could be enough to trigger a person.
A man is cut in half lengthwise. It is shown in its entirety and is the most graphic thing I’ve seen in a movie besides “Midsommar”. A stable boy is also gutted and there is a scene where a character cuts something out of a tribe members throat.
A boy who works for a farmer dies some point at the beginning. He is not exactly a child but he seems to be very young nonetheless (Probs a teen). He is shown dead afterwards.
Someone is shot in the arm and refuses treatment or to be saved. Instead they asked to be left behind with a gun so they can continue killing natives while the rest of their party continue on their journey.
The main story of the movie involves a group going to save some people that were kidnapped. But the kidnap itself is not shown happening. Just the afterwards.
At the beginning of the movie, one of the characters spits to the ground after saying he is a civilized man.
Sometime after, another characters spits out some soup after drinking it because it's too hot.
One specific death scene is particularly upsetting with the screaming. *SPOILERS*** when inside the troglodyte settlement, Nick is brutally killed and realistically screams in agony for most of the process.
Absolutely there is, they say ‘cripple’ constantly through the film. I actually don’t understand how people said no, that’s really worrying. Re-evaluate your life if you think cripple isn’t derogatory.
A husband and wife have sex, we only see side boob and maybe the top of her bare butt. The feral tribe are mostly nude, but covered in thick white clay/dust, so it can be hard to see their genitals. You see their bare butts and their crippled women's bare breasts. When they split the man down the middle, his butt and genitals are pretty clear.
It's implied that the tribe is likely incestuous. There are two pregnant females used as essential breeding slaves, and a dozen or so males comprising the whole tribe.
It's never stated or shown though.
