Finney Blake, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.
This movie contains 68 potentially triggering events.
There is a good boy golden retriever in a flashback that remains unharmed. There is also a good boy cane corso named Sampson who remains unharmed and gets to eat a steak.
Technically no, but it's implied at the end of the film that the children forgive their physically and emotionally abusive father and move on with their lives. The father apologizes and the children do not respond, but it can still be pretty triggering for folks. (It was for me.)
The Grabber is heavily implied to be a pedophile. There is no explicit sex on screen but he makes statements regarding children he kidnapped that suggest he molested them.
not sure what the other comment is talking about, as it is most definitely implied, and quite heavily so; the kidnapper plays a game with his victims called “naughty boy,” of which his “favorite part” is briefly discussed (though never explicitly clarified or shown). when playing the “naughty boy” game, he’s also half naked, for some reason. he also watches the main character as he sleeps, says he “won’t do anything [the main character] won’t like” in a suggestive tone, and the sexual component is both confirmed and intended by the director and writers. as a csa victim myself, it’s extremely difficult to miss.
The Grabber drugs Finney when he kidnaps him. It’s something in a spray can. Finney becomes unconscious and wakes up on a dirty mattress in a basement, his vision fuzzy.
not super scary but a little startling. two of the victims appear very suddenly, one appears behind mc bloodied and one floating from the floor dripping with blood.
The killer/kidnapper is clearly "unhinged," but no diagnoses are referenced and none really even come to mind. It's just standard horror movie villainy.

I would say that it sounds like it’s for sexual purposes, but I agree that that doesn’t make him LGBT. Him saying to Finney “I will never make you do anything you don’t like”, the whole “naughty boy game” thing where he sits shirtless and waits to beat them with a belt, him watching over Finney whilst he sleeps and just the fact that he only kidnaps boys are all suspect. “The second part is is favourite part” seems to suggest some kind of sexual assault
It is heavily implied the villain SAs his child victims. Nothing is shown on screen or technically discussed, but there are undeniable implications and the directors have suggested it was intentional.
