Also, in the Midtown segment there’s a napping cowboy robot, and if you interact with them they sit up and look questioningly into the camera.

Specifically, there are areas of the game w/ the creatures where the walls are covered in what looks like flesh, with large eyes from the walls. In game over there are unpleasant noises, you see the cat dogpiled by creatures and the screen goes red but it isn't overly graphic aside from the noises

The closest thing to this is the fact that the game seems to be post-humanity. It's not directly said how humanity ended, but it's strongly implied that no human is left alive. The game takes place in a sort of underground city protected by a thick dome.
