Vampire Barnabas Collins is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate and family have fallen into ruin.
This movie contains 31 potentially triggering events.
A man leaves his kid whose mother was killed prior to the movie. The boy struggles severely due to the loss of his mother, his father leaving visibly upsets him. The father doesn’t say a proper goodbye or hugs him, just turns around and gets into a taxi.
I’m the very end we see the doctor, who was dropped into the ocean, wrapped in sheets, restrained with ropes, and a heavy object tied to her, open her eyes. Since it is implied that she’s become a vampire she couldn’t drown, but she isn’t saved either. And no sequel :(
Barnabas is kissed against his will by Angelique, and she harasses him for not reciprocating his feelings. She also ties him up and forces him to have her panties in his mouth and she locks him in a casket.
At the end, in the final battle, Angelique tells Barnabas that he makes her sick as a joke, or to insult him. She then proceeds to projectile (when I say projectile, it’s like a very straight directed towards him) vomit at him. He is then seen covered in it, as he wipes some of it out of his eyes. However, this scene would usually be graphic, but it’s ... not. It’s very edited and is intentionally textured in a way to it be graphic. I guarantee you emetophobes are safe. As graphic as it may sound, it is definitely not. Angelique is a witch, and she vomitted on purpose for effect to get revenge on Barnabas. I hope this was helpful.
Midway through the movie, Barnabas and Angelique have aggressive, destructive sex that destroys the office and everything appears as broken. It is very intense, they jump from wall to wall.
The main character, Barnabas, is a vampire. So of course, naturally, in any vampire themed movie, there will be some form of blood, whether it be graphic or not. But I can say, there wasn’t anything far too graphic, just borderline, or for comedic effect.
