Rachel stabs the dog as the other comment says and you can hear the dog crying as it dies. Very sad. For those who want to skip this part (I would), at ~53 minutes when you see the husband with the dog cleaning up after the baby shower / the husband goes outside to throw out the trash, fast forward to ~55 minutes. The husband has blood on his shirt and tells her the dog didn't make it but the dog is gone.
