At the beginning of the film Puss drinks a lot of milk. It's just milk, but he drinks it like something else. One of his 9 lives was lost when he was milk-drunk and decided to show off by jumping off a building.
We see a montage of Puss losing 8 of his 9 lives. You can just barely see him dying on screen for most of the deaths. The movie is about him being on his 9th and last life, which he does not lose, so he essentially survives.
Puss in Boots dies at the beginning of the film and there’s flashbacks of him dying, but he’s not a pet. He also is alive in the end as cats have 9 lives.
Not at all, but there is one scene that might be similarly triggering. When puss wakes up at the doctor, he tells puss to relax so he can have his temperature taken rectally. Puss’s refusal is respected and it doesn’t happen, but there’s a moment where he is distressed
Lots of blades throughout the movie. Kitty Softpaws gives Puss' beard a close shave with a knife. Twice in the film swords are stabbed into enemies' giant thumbs like a splinter.
Not shown on screen but Kitty Softpaws is declawed, which contrary to popular belief is an amputation of a large part of the paw and not just the claws.
In the Puss death montage (not at all graphic, it’s a kid’s movie and it’s all jokey), he walks off a tall building, snaps his spine with a dumbbell, and gets crushed by a bell. If that’s interesting to anyone.
Not in the traditional sense, but at one point *minor Spoilers* Puss talks to his past nine lives. However, they do not look like your traditional ghost at all, and are just his reflections.
(Character backstory spoilers) the puppy character was seen as a weirdo by his siblings so they tried to kill him, disguising it as a game, he lives and finds a better family. Could be seen as autism coded.
Sound of metal scraping against metal in the doctors office scene (when the doctor turns his back). There are lots of blades/sword fights, so there are possibility more that I am forgetting.
Also brief occasional whistling throughout the film.
In a scene where Puss is being chased through a forest, he lays against a tree stump and his heartbeat is heard as he hyperventilates. Perrito finds Puss and helps him calm him down.
A Villain character obsessively eats, a trait from the fairy tale he’s based off of. It doesn’t seem to be an eating disorder though, he just likes food.
[ SLIGHT SPOILERS ]
a character panics and has life flashes when they hear a certain sound they heard earlier in the movie from another character, but I would call this a regular fear response rather than PTSD
Well, Puss usually wears clothes and when staying at a cat sanctuary place he isn’t wearing his clothes which is equivalent to him being naked, but no detailed privates are seen since he’s just a cat. He puts his clothes back on after he leaves the location.
