Harry, Ron and Hermione return to Hogwarts for another magic-filled year. Harry comes face to face with danger yet again, this time in the form of escaped convict, Sirius Black—and turns to sympathetic Professor Lupin for help.
This movie contains 42 potentially triggering events.
Harry's aunt Marge arrives and treats Harry unfairly, talks negatively about his parents, and calls his mum a b. We are shown that Harry is psychologically affected by this afterwards when he kicks boxes in his room. There is also shouting between Harry and Uncle Vernon.
The lies being told to Harry are unintentional - they think they are telling the truth, and are trying to protect him, so I would argue that it's not gaslighting
No dragons die, however other magical creatures are killed or injured including a hypogriff is killed but them saved through time travel, A wizard in werewolf form who is injured by the hypogriff and another wizard who transformed into a huge dog who is injured while fighting the werewolf but lives.
The scene described by the other comment is actually in Harry Potter 2 (The chamber of secrets) but there is a scene in the Prisoner of Azkaban. During Lupin's class, they're training against a boggart and Ron is arachnophobic so the boggart turn into a giant spider before Ron add rollers to each of the legs. When the student facing the boggart change, the spider shapshift into something else.
Going with a light "Yes" here. It's heavily implied that it's going to happen to a creature and goes through the motions of it, cutting away before it happens. However, the creature is revealed later to be fine. The lead up could be upsetting for some.
[spoilers] There is a scene when Harry does pass out and Ron mentions how it looked like a seizure - no shaking is shown though and it's just a single comment.
Only a couple of minor scares early in the Film.
Here are the jump scare times if you've not watched Harry Potter, but you HATE jump scares.
(Mild) (14:38) The Chomp-y book suddenly tries to attack Harry
(Mild) (14:59) After the camera zooms in the Chomp-y book it suddenly tries to attack Harry again
(Mild) (19:54) The Hogwarts Train suddenly shakes and makes a loud noise - It also happens at 20:18
(Mild) (53:40) The Dementor suddenly moves up to the camera behind 2 other Dementors during a Quidditch match
(Mild) (1:18:05) Trelawney suddenly grabs Harry by the shoulder, accompanied by a sound effect
The director of this film (Alfonso Cuaron, not J.K. Rowling) is hateful towards autistic people and supports Autism Speaks but this isn’t reflected in the narrative.
There is a portrait next to the Fat Lady showing a woman holding a baby. In the scene where the Fat Lady is gone the baby is seen crying. It is very brief and there is no sound.
When the characters are attacked by the whomping willow I remember them screaming.
I have not watched this movie in a while so I don't have the timestamps but I am extremely sensitive to screaming and would maybe wanna watch this film some time, so if anyone could add timestamps for any screaming/yelling I would appreciate it :)
