SOMEONE IS HIT WITH A BELT AS A WEAPON IN THIS MOVIE. Not a child, but a grown adult, this could definitely be triggering for victims of child abuse so I figured I would leave a warning here!
No one sexually assaulted from another person. But there are a few times when someone instructs their dog to charge and attack someone else's groin during gunfights.
A rather large man falls onto his head and dies from it. There in accompanying audio of crunching bone. Numerous people are also shot/stabbed/axed/nunchucked to the head with gory results.
I believe they are referring to some of the fight scenes, where ankles and lower legs are sliced with swords/knives. I can’t recall any specific moments in particular and there are not any close ups as far as I’m aware.
There is a particularly gory scene where someone is forced to slice their hand open. Also, in typical John Wick style many people are killed by being smashed to the ground and so forth.
a character has their neck put in a noose attached to a pulley, with someone cranking the rope higher and higher to strangle them slowly. they do not die, but they struggle for breath. another character has a knife stabbed into the top of their hand and is forced to either pull out the knife or pull out their hand. they choose the latter, and very slowly pull their hand through the blade of the knife, slicing through the skin between their middle and ring finger, while the knife stays stabbed into the table.
At the hotel in Osaka, many people sacrifice themselves to try and keep assassins from finding John Wick. One is John's old friend, and he keeps fighting even while injured to buy time.
Yes. Caine is played by Donnie Yen however his role is done well and does not downplay his character for being blind. Being blind makes his ass-kicking all the more badass.
Right as the movie begins, there's a loud punch of a fist against a punching bag. A few people flinched at it, not so much a horror jumpscare though, just sudden
Halfway through the movie John makes a pact with a woman and they both brand their forearms, the wounds are shown and he shows them again in one of the following scenes
Not obviously, but arguably John has been suffering with PTSD since the first movie, which is why he keeps fighting, because he's running on pure instinct in a constant state of stress, trying desperately to cling to the memory of his wife.
The Ruska Roma, who John Wick joins during the film, are an actual group, a subgroup of the Romani travellers. The film depicts them as an incredibly powerful organised crime syndicate.
No demons. The movie opens with a quote from Dante’s Inferno and accompanying imagery that might suggest the gates of Hell. After that, Hell is mentioned a few times, characters are invited to go to it or told they’ll end up there or it is speculated whether they ended up there.
Many. There is one scene with a gunfight in traffic that I found particularly loud for several minutes with continuous sounds of cars revving, honk, tire screeching, and cars/car parts crashing. I was squinting my eyes through all the noise lol.
Absurd amounts of car and motorcycle crashes during the scene at the Arc de Triomphe scene. Cars crash into people and into other cars. Total automobile chaos.
